Recognition Notes
The MAD-5R rebuilds the Marauder as a 75-ton brawler, where the MAD-1R fought as a sniper. In place of the twin PPCs it carries an ER PPC in each arm, and the AC/5 in the right torso becomes a Rotary AC/5; a medium laser remains paired with each ER PPC. A 300 XL fusion engine replaces the standard fusion plant, and 17 double heat sinks replace the 16 single sinks, while standard armor replaces the ferro-fibrous plating of the MAD-1R. CASE now sits in the left torso rather than the right, and the design adds a Guardian ECM suite in the center torso and a C3 slave unit in the head. It cruises at 43 km/h and tops out near 65, carrying the same low, hard-to-target silhouette and hyper-extending arm actuators as the earlier design. General Motors builds it at Kathil.
