Recognition Notes
The MAD-5L is a 75-ton heavy sniper, a 3067 rework of the 2612 MAD-1R that trades its weapons for energy-based reach. Where the MAD-1R mounted a PPC and Medium Laser in each arm, the MAD-5L carries an ER Large Laser and ER Medium Laser in each arm, and an ER PPC replaces the AC/5 in the right torso. A Guardian ECM suite sits in the center torso, and Triple-Strength Myomer along with stealth armor replace the base model's standard myomer and ferro-fibrous plating. Cruising speed holds at 43 km/h with a top speed of 65, though under combat heat it can push its cruising pace to 65 km/h as well. It remains a command 'Mech with a low, hard-to-target silhouette and hyper-extending arm actuators, and Ceres Metals Industries builds it at its Capella works among other sites.
