Recognition Notes
The MAD-5CS is a 75-ton sniper, a 3052 field refit of the 2612 MAD-1R that keeps the original's cruising speed of 43 km/h and top speed near 65. In place of the base PPCs it fields an ER PPC in each arm, and each arm's Medium Laser is replaced by a Medium Pulse Laser. The AC/5 in the right torso gives way to an LB 10-X AC, and a lighter 300 XL fusion engine frees mass while the heat-sink fit grows from 16 single to 18 double. Standard armor plating replaces the MAD-1R's ferro-fibrous, and this refit carries no listed CASE installation. It remains a command 'Mech with a low, hard-to-target silhouette and hyper-extending arm actuators, assembled at various sites as a field refit rather than a factory production line.
