Recognition Notes
The COM-9S is a 25-ton striker, a rework of the scouting COM-1A that traded reconnaissance for direct fighting. Where the original carried a single Large Laser in the right arm, this variant fields a Light PPC in the left arm and a pair of improved one-shot SRM 2 launchers in the right, with an MML 3 in each torso. A 175 XL fusion engine and endo steel structure lift cruising speed from the COM-1A's 54 km/h to 76 km/h and top speed from 86 to 119 km/h, and a supercharger in the center torso pushes sprint speed to 151 km/h when engaged. Standard armor replaces the primitive plating of the original, CASE II lines the right torso, and the type keeps the low, hard-to-target silhouette of its predecessor. Coventry Metal Works builds it at Coventry.
