Commando COM-8S

The COM-8S is a 25-ton striker that fights close in, a far cry in role from the 2463 COM-1A it descends from. Where the COM-1A carried a single Large Laser in the right arm on a 150 fusion engine, this variant strips that weapon for a pair of ER Medium Lasers in the left arm and twin Streak SRM 2 launchers in the right arm, driven by a 175 XL fusion engine that lifts cruising speed from 54 to 76 km/h and top speed from 86 to 119 km/h. A supercharger in the center torso pushes sprint speed to 151 km/h when engaged. Endo steel structure and standard armor replace the COM-1A's standard structure and primitive plating, and a boosted C3 slave unit sits in the left torso alongside CASE II in the right torso. The type keeps the low, hard-to-target silhouette of the original, and Coventry Metal Works builds it at Coventry.
