Recognition Notes
The COM-5S rebuilds the Commando as a 25-ton striker fighting in close, where the COM-1A of 2463 served as a scout carrying a single Large Laser. In place of that lone weapon it fields a Medium Laser in the left arm, a Streak SRM 2 in the right arm, and an SRM 6 in the left torso, with an Artemis IV fire-control system tied into the left torso launcher and CASE lining the right torso. An endo steel skeleton and ferro-fibrous plating replace the original's standard structure and primitive armor, and the same 150 fusion engine now pushes the design to 65 km/h cruising and 97 km/h at top speed, up from 54 and 86. It keeps the low, hard-to-target silhouette of the line, and is built by Coventry Metal Works at Coventry.
