The Commando COM-7S is a 25-ton striker that fights close in, a 3064 rebuild of the 2463 COM-1A original. Where the COM-1A carried a single Large Laser in the right arm, the COM-7S mounts twin ER Medium Lasers in the left arm, a pair of Streak SRM 2 launchers in the right arm, and an SRM 4 in the center torso, with an Artemis IV fire-control system tied into the center torso mount and CASE lining the right torso. An endo steel skeleton and a 150 light fusion engine replace the original's standard structure and fusion plant, lifting cruising speed from 54 to 65 km/h and top speed from 86 to 97, and ten double heat sinks stand in for the ten single sinks of the earlier build. Standard armor plating covers the frame in place of the COM-1A's primitive covering, and the type still presents the same low, hard-to-target silhouette. Coventry Metal Works builds the COM-7S at Coventry.
