Recognition Notes
The WVR-9W2 is a 55-ton striker, a thorough rebuild of the 2471 WVR-1R behind a lighter 275 XL fusion engine that lifts cruising speed from 43 to 54 km/h and top speed from 65 to 86 km/h, with jump range stretching from 120 to 210 metres. Where the WVR-1R carried an AC/5 in the right arm, this configuration mounts a Light PPC there instead, and the left arm adds an MML 5 alongside an ER Small Laser. The head weapon becomes an ER Medium Laser in place of the original's Medium Laser, and light ferro-fibrous armor replaces the primitive plating of the WVR-1R. Twelve double heat sinks handle a far heavier thermal load than the ten single sinks of the earlier model. This variant serves as a command 'Mech, fitted with enhanced communications gear and a cramped cockpit, and it is built by Luthien Armor Works at New Samarkand.
