Recognition Notes
The WVR-9K rebuilds the Wolverine around a mixed melee-and-firepower loadout, a 3074 reworking of the 2471 original. Where the WVR-1R carried an AC/5 in the right arm and a medium laser in the head, this variant fields a Snub-Nose PPC, a Light Machine Gun, and a Light Machine Gun Array all in the right arm, backed by an SRM 4 in the left torso and Anti-BattleArmor Pods in both torsos. A Sword is mounted in the left arm. A lighter 275 light fusion engine and endo steel structure lift cruising speed from 43 to 54 km/h and top speed from 65 to 86, with Triple-Strength Myomer pushing a boosted cruising speed of 76 km/h under combat heat; jump range grows from 120 to 150 metres. Standard armor replaces the WVR-1R's primitive plating, and 10 double heat sinks replace the original's 10 single. The type serves as a command 'Mech with enhanced communications gear and a cramped cockpit, and is built by Victory Industries, formerly Norse BattleMech Works, at Marduk.
