Recognition Notes
The WVR-7M2 is a 55-ton skirmisher, a 3072 field refit of the 2471-era WVR-1R. Where the original mounted an AC/5 in the right arm, this version carries a Heavy PPC there, and the head-mounted medium laser is swapped for a medium pulse laser; a second medium pulse laser sits in the right torso and an SRM 6 fills the left torso. A lighter 275 XL fusion engine replaces the standard 265 unit, lifting cruising speed from 43 to 54 km/h and top speed from 65 to 86 km/h, and MASC in the right torso pushes it to a sprint speed of 108 km/h when engaged. Standard armor now covers the frame in place of the primitive plating, jump range extends from 120 to 150 metres, and the heat-sink count rises from 10 single to 12 double sinks. The jettisonable arm weapon carries over from the WVR-1R, and this configuration adds enhanced communications gear befitting its role as a command 'Mech. It is produced through field refit work at various facilities rather than a dedicated factory line.
