Recognition Notes
The WVR-8D is a 55-ton skirmisher, a 3066 rebuild of the 2471 WVR-1R. Where the original carried a plain AC/5 in the right arm, this variant swaps in a Rotary AC/2, and the head-mounted Medium Laser becomes an ER Medium Laser. It adds a Streak SRM 6 in the left torso, with CASE lining both the left and right torso; the right torso also houses a targeting computer and MASC. A 275 XL fusion engine and endo steel structure raise cruising speed from 43 to 54 km/h and top speed from 65 to 86, and with MASC engaged it can sprint to 108 km/h; jump range grows from 120 to 150 metres. Standard armor replaces the WVR-1R's primitive plating. The type stands as a command 'Mech with enhanced communications gear, and keeps the jettisonable arm weapon of the original. Victory Industries, formerly Norse BattleMech Works, builds it at Marduk, with Kallon Weapon Industries producing it elsewhere.
