The TDR-9S rebuilds the Thunderbolt as a 65-ton brawler, a role the 2491-era TDR-1C never carried as a missile boat. In the right arm an ER PPC replaces the Large Laser, and the left torso now pairs an SRM 6 with the Medium Laser rather than carrying the Medium Laser alone. The right torso trades the LRM 15 and SRM 2 for a Flamer and an Anti-Missile System, while the Machine Gun stays in the left arm. A heavier 260 fusion engine lifts cruising speed from 32 to 43 km/h and top speed from 54 to 65 km/h, and standard armor replaces the TDR-1C's primitive plating. Fifteen double heat sinks replace the original ten single sinks, and the chassis carries a rugged, field-serviceable frame. Olivetti Weaponry builds it, with Earthwerks Ltd. producing it as well, out of the Sudeten works.
