Recognition notes
The Thunderbolt TDR-5D is a 65-ton brawler, a field-refit rework of the 2491 TDR-1C missile boat carried out well into 2821. Where the original carried a Machine Gun, Large Laser, and Medium Laser alongside an LRM 15 and SRM 2, the TDR-5D strips the arsenal down to an LRM 10 in the left torso and an AC/20 in the right torso. A 260 fusion engine replaces the smaller 235, lifting cruising speed from 32 to 43 km/h and top speed from 54 to 65 km/h, and standard armor plating replaces the original's primitive protection. The heat-sink count rises from 10 to 14 single sinks, and the chassis is noted for its rugged, field-serviceable frame. It is turned out as a field refit rather than a factory production run, assembled at various sites rather than a dedicated plant.
