The Thunderbolt TDR-9M is a 65-ton skirmisher, a 3067 rebuild of the 2491 TDR-1C missile boat. Where the TDR-1C carried a large laser and paired machine guns in its arms, the TDR-9M drops the arm-mounted machine guns entirely and fits a Light Gauss Rifle in the right arm; the three medium lasers in the left torso become three ER medium lasers, and the SRM 2 alongside the LRM 15 in the right torso is gone, leaving the LRM 15 alone with CASE added in that torso. An endo steel structure replaces the standard framing, and standard armor replaces the primitive plating of the original. A heavier 260 fusion engine lifts cruising speed from 32 to 43 km/h and top speed from 54 to 65 km/h, and the design now jumps 120 metres, a capability the TDR-1C lacked. Its double heat sinks replace the older single sinks, and the frame is noted as rugged and field-serviceable. Earthwerks-FWL, Inc. builds it at Keystone.
