Recognition Notes
The AS8-KE is a 100-ton juggernaut, a 3140 rework of the 2755 AS7-D that keeps the same 300 fusion engine and its 32/54 km/h cruising and top speeds. Where the AS7-D carries a medium laser in each arm, the AS8-KE mounts an ER Large Laser in the Left Arm and another in the Right Arm, and in place of the LRM 20 and SRM 6 in the left torso it fields a single MML 5. The AC/20 in the right torso gives way to a Gauss Rifle, and the pair of rear-facing medium lasers in the center torso is absent from this configuration. CASE II is fitted in both the Left Torso and Right Torso, and ballistic-reinforced armor replaces the standard plating of the original, with 12 double heat sinks in place of the AS7-D's 20 single units. It remains a command 'Mech with reinforced battle fists on both arms and enhanced communications gear, built by Independence Weaponry at Quentin.
