Recognition Notes
The AS8-D is a 100-ton juggernaut, a 3074 field refit of the 2755 AS7-D that trades its original weapons for a wholly different battery while keeping the same 300 fusion engine and its 32/54 km/h pace. Where the AS7-D carried an AC/20 and an LRM 20 in the torsos, the AS8-D fields a Rotary AC/5 and an MML 9 in each side torso, backed by a Light PPC in each arm and a Snub-Nose PPC in the center torso. Small Lasers sit in both legs and ER Small Lasers ride in both side torsos, and CASE lines the right torso where the original carried none. Triple-Strength Myomer and 14 double heat sinks replace the base model's standard myomer and 20 single heat sinks, and under combat heat the AS8-D's cruising speed climbs to 54 km/h. It carries over the AS7-D's command role, reinforced battle fists on both arms, and enhanced communications gear. Robinson Standard BattleWorks builds it at Robinson, alongside field refits done at various other sites.
