Recognition Notes
The AS8-K is a 100-ton juggernaut, a 3140 rebuild of the 2755-era AS7-D that swaps its Medium Laser arms for a pair of ER Large Lasers and its AC/20 for a Gauss Rifle, both in the same locations as before. Where the AS7-D paired an LRM 20 with an SRM 6 in the left torso, the AS8-K carries a Streak SRM 6 and an MML 5 there, and the rear-facing Medium Lasers in the center torso become ER Medium Lasers. CASE II now lines both the left and right torso, and a lighter 300 XL fusion engine holds the same 32 km/h cruising and 54 km/h top speed while trimming the heat-sink count from 20 single to 14 double units. Ballistic-reinforced armor replaces the standard plating of the original, and the machine retains its command role with reinforced battle fists on both arms and enhanced communications gear. Independence Weaponry builds the AS8-K at its Quentin works.
