Recognition notes
The AS7-K2 rebuilds the Atlas as a 100-ton assault that fights at long range, a 3082 reworking of the 2755 AS7-D juggernaut. Where the AS7-D carried a pair of medium lasers in the arms, the K2 mounts an ER Large Laser in each; in place of the AC/20 in the right torso the left torso now carries a Gauss Rifle, and twin Streak SRM 6 racks in the left and right torsos stand in for the old LRM 20 and SRM 6 combination, with the rear-facing medium lasers gone entirely. A lighter 400 XL fusion engine lifts cruising speed from 32 to 43 km/h and top speed from 54 to 65 km/h, and ferro-fibrous armor replaces the standard plating of the original. CASE now protects the right torso and a Guardian ECM suite sits in the center torso, additions absent from the AS7-D. The command 'Mech's reinforced battle fists and enhanced communications gear carry over unchanged, and Independence Weaponry builds it at its Quentin works.
