Recognition Notes
The Rifleman RFL-8D is a 60-ton skirmisher that fights at medium range, a 3064 rebuild of the 2504-vintage RFL-1N, cruising at 43 km/h and topping out near 65. Where the RFL-1N mounted a Large Laser and a Medium Laser in each arm, the RFL-8D carries a Rotary AC/5 and an ER Medium Laser in each arm. Endo steel internal structure takes the place of the RFL-1N's standard structure, and a 240 XL fusion engine replaces the earlier 240 fusion engine. Eleven double heat sinks stand in place of the original's twelve single sinks, and standard armor covers the frame in place of the RFL-1N's primitive plating. The RFL-8D also jumps up to 120 metres, a capability not present on the original. Anti-aircraft fire control, a fixed searchlight, and enhanced communications gear carry over from the RFL-1N, and Kallon Weapon Industries builds the type at its Talon (Wernke) plant.
