Recognition Notes
The RFL-5D rebuilds the Rifleman as a 60-ton brawler, considerably heavier than the 50-ton RFL-1N it descends from, though cruising speed holds at 43 km/h and top speed near 65 km/h. Where the RFL-1N pairs a Large Laser with a Medium Laser in each arm, the RFL-5D adds an ER PPC alongside the Large Laser in each arm and relocates a pair of Medium Lasers to the center torso. An XL fusion engine replaces the standard fusion plant of the original, and standard armor replaces the primitive plating that covered the RFL-1N, while the heat-sink count rises from 12 single to 17 double units. Anti-aircraft fire control, a fixed searchlight, and enhanced communications gear carry over on the airframe, a 3050 rebuild of the 2504 original. Kallon Weapon Industries builds the type at its Talon plant on Wernke, among other sites.
