Recognition Notes
The RFL-5M is a 60-ton brawler, a heavier 3049 rebuild of the 2504-vintage 50-ton RFL-1N. Where the original's arms each pair a Large Laser with a Medium Laser, this variant pairs a Large Laser with an Ultra AC/5 in the left arm and again in the right arm, and adds a Medium Laser in each torso that the RFL-1N lacked. A 240 XL fusion engine replaces the original's standard fusion plant while holding the same cruising speed of 43 km/h and top speed of 65 km/h, and standard armor covers the frame in place of the RFL-1N's primitive plating. Twelve double heat sinks stand in for the original's twelve single sinks, and CASE lines the right torso. The type carries anti-aircraft fire control and a fixed searchlight, and is built by Kallon Weapon Industries at Thermopolis.
