Griffin GRF-6S (Francine)

The Griffin GRF-6S (Francine) is a 55-ton skirmisher, five tons lighter than the 2465 GRF-1A it descends from, and it swaps that original's 290 standard fusion engine for a 275 light fusion plant, lifting cruising speed from 43 to 54 km/h and top speed from 65 to 86 km/h; its jump jets carry it 150 metres against the GRF-1A's 90. Endo steel internal structure replaces the standard framing of the original, and standard armor plating covers the frame in place of the GRF-1A's primitive protection. Where the GRF-1A carried only a Primitive Prototype PPC in the right arm and an LRM 5 in the right torso, the Francine mounts a pair of ER Medium Lasers in the left arm, a Snub-Nose PPC in the right arm, a rear-facing Small Laser in the left torso, an LRM 15 in the right torso, and an ER Medium Laser in the center torso, with an Artemis IV fire-control system and CASE housed alongside the LRM 15. Ten double heat sinks handle cooling in place of the original's eleven single sinks. Both arms carry reinforced battle fists, one of them a jettisonable weapon mount, on a frame built for field servicing. Maxwell Manufacturing, Inc. builds the type at its Procyon plant.
