Griffin GRF-6S

The GRF-6S rebuilds the Griffin at 55 tons, five lighter than the 60-ton GRF-1A original, and fights at long range as a sniper. Where the 2465 baseline carried a Primitive Prototype PPC and a single LRM 5 in the right torso, the GRF-6S mounts an ER PPC in the right arm and an LRM 15 in the same right torso location, and adds a pair of ER Medium Lasers, one in the left arm and one in the center torso. A 275 light fusion engine and endo steel structure lift cruising speed from 43 to 54 km/h and top speed from 65 to 86, while a jump of 150 meters replaces the original's 90, and standard armor plates the frame in place of the GRF-1A's primitive plating. Ten double heat sinks replace the eleven single sinks of the original. Both arms carry reinforced battle fists, and the chassis has a rugged, field-serviceable frame. Defiance Industries builds it at Hesperus II, with production also underway at other sites.
