Valkyrie VLK-QD3

The VLK-QD3 is a 30-ton striker rebuilt in 3067 from the 2787 VLK-QA missile boat, trading reach for a livelier chassis. A 210 fusion engine replaces the original's 150, lifting cruising speed from 54 to 76 km/h and top speed from 86 to 119, while endo steel structure and ferro-fibrous armor replace the standard components of the earlier design. Where the VLK-QA carried a single medium laser in the right arm and an LRM 10 in the left torso, this variant mounts a pair of ER medium lasers in the left arm and a lighter LRM 5 in the right torso, backed by CASE in that same torso section. Ten double heat sinks manage a heavier laser load than the QA's eleven singles, and its jump range extends from 150 to 180 metres. It keeps the type's enhanced communications gear and easily-serviced construction, and Corean Enterprises builds it at New Avalon, with production also carried out at other sites.
