Banshee BNC-5S (Sawyer)

The BNC-5S (Sawyer) is a 95-ton assault that fights at long range, a 3057 rebuild of the 2445 BNC-1E original. Where the BNC-1E carried an AC/5 in the left torso, this variant mounts a Gauss Rifle there, and the Primitive Prototype PPC in the right torso is replaced by an ER PPC. The center torso's Medium Laser is replaced by a Small Laser, while a Medium Laser sits in the left arm and further Medium Lasers face rearward from both torsos; an SRM 6 fills the right arm. A 380 XL fusion engine replaces the 345 fusion powerplant, lifting cruising speed from 32 to 43 km/h and top speed from 54 to 65 km/h, and the design gains a 120-meter jump capability the original lacked. Standard armor replaces the primitive plating, and 13 double heat sinks replace the 16 single sinks. The frame keeps its rugged, field-serviceable character, and the type is turned out as a field refit at various sites rather than from a single named factory.
