Merlin MLN-SX

The MLN-SX is a 60-ton juggernaut, a 3075 refit of the 3010 Merlin that fought as a brawler. Where the MLN-1A carried a pair of medium lasers, a flamer, a machine gun, a PPC, and an LRM 5, this refit strips the loadout down to a Medium VSP Laser in each arm and a Bombast Laser in the right torso, each fitted with its own laser insulator. The 240 fusion engine gives way to a 240 light fusion engine, and endo-composite internal structure replaces the standard structure, while 14 double heat sinks stand in for the original's 18 single sinks. Cruising and top speeds hold at 43 and 65 km/h, with jump range unchanged at 120 metres, and the frame keeps its rugged, field-serviceable build. Sabanillas Mining Company handles the refit work at its Sabanillas plant.
