Recognition Notes
The LCT-5W is a 20-ton scout that fights close in, a 3076 rebuild of the 2499 LCT-1V. Where the LCT-1V carried a pair of machine guns and a medium laser, this variant swaps in twin ER medium lasers in the arms and adds a TAG unit in the center torso. A 180 XL fusion engine replaces the original 160 fusion plant, lifting cruising speed from 86 to 97 km/h and top speed from 130 to 151 km/h, with a MASC system in the center torso pushing sprint speed to 194 km/h. Endo steel internal structure and light ferro-fibrous armor replace the standard structure and armor of the LCT-1V, and 10 double heat sinks stand in place of the earlier 10 single sinks. A C3i computer sits in the right torso, and the type keeps its minimal, weapon-pod arms without hands and low, hard-to-target silhouette. Achernar BattleMechs builds it at Achernar.
