Hermes II HER-5Sr

The Hermes II HER-5Sr is a 40-ton medium that fights at long range, cruising at 65 km/h and topping out at 97. Where the HER-2S carried an AC/5 in the right torso, this configuration mounts a Heavy PPC there, and the right arm's medium laser gives way to a medium pulse laser. The left arm keeps its flamer and now also houses a Guardian ECM suite. An endo steel skeleton replaces the HER-2S's standard structure, and 10 double heat sinks replace the original's 10 single heat sinks, all under the same standard armor. It carries the same enhanced communications gear as the base model and remains an easily-serviced design; most examples are field refits turned out at various sites, though Irian BattleMechs Unlimited still builds the type at Shiro III.
