Hermes II HER-4K "Hermes III"

The HER-4K "Hermes III" is a 40-ton scout, a 3025 field refit of the 2798 HER-2S that trades its mixed loadout for stand-off firepower. Where the HER-2S carried a Flamer in the left arm, a Medium Laser in the right arm, and an AC/5 in the right torso, this configuration strips all three and mounts a Large Laser in the left torso and a second Large Laser in the right torso. Cruising and top speed hold at 65 and 97 km/h, and the heat-sink count rises from 10 to 11 single sinks to cope with the twin lasers. It keeps the enhanced communications gear and easily-serviced design of the original, and as a field refit it is turned out at various sites rather than a dedicated production line.
