Hermes II HER-5C

The HER-5C is a 40-ton striker rebuild of the 2798 HER-2S scout, cruising at 65 km/h and topping out near 97. Where the original carried a Flamer, a single Medium Laser, and an AC/5, the HER-5C replaces that mix with an iNarc in the left arm, three ER Medium Lasers in the right arm, and an ER Large Laser in the right torso. Endo steel structure and an XL fusion engine of the same 240 rating free up mass for the heavier weapons fit, and double heat sinks replace the single sinks of the earlier design. A C3i computer sits in the center torso, and the chassis keeps its enhanced communications gear and easily-serviced layout. Irian BattleMechs Unlimited builds it at its Irian plant.
