Recognition notes
The HER-5S is a 40-ton striker, a 3050 rework of the 2798 Hermes II that trades the original's scouting brief for closer fighting. Where the HER-2S carries a medium laser in the right arm, this configuration mounts a medium pulse laser, and the AC/5 in the right torso gives way to an Ultra AC/5. A flamer remains in the left arm. Endo steel internal structure replaces the standard framework, and double heat sinks stand in for the base model's single sinks, all within the same 240 fusion engine and unchanged speed. The type keeps its enhanced communications gear and easily-serviced design, and Irian BattleMechs Unlimited builds it at its Irian plant.
