Recognition notes
The HER-5ME "Mercury Elite" reworks the 40-ton Hermes II as a sniper, a sharp departure from the HER-2S scout of 2798. Where that original carried a Flamer and Medium Laser in the arms alongside an AC/5 in the right torso, the Mercury Elite strips the arm weapons entirely and mounts a single Light Gauss Rifle in the right torso. Endo steel structure replaces the standard framework, and the heat-sink fit shifts from 10 single to 10 double sinks, though cruising speed holds at 65 km/h with a top speed near 97. The enhanced communications gear and easily-serviced design carry over from the base model. Irian BattleMechs Unlimited builds it at its Irian plant.
