Hermes HER-4M

The HER-4M rebuilds the Hermes as a 30-ton close-in striker, where the HER-1S of 2632 served as a scout. In place of the Flamer in the left arm and the single medium lasers in the right arm and center torso, this variant fields five ER medium lasers, two each in the left and right arms and one in the right torso. A 270 XL fusion engine replaces the standard fusion plant, and ten double heat sinks stand in for the original's single-heat-sink bank, while cruising speed holds at 97 km/h and top speed at 151. MASC in the left torso lets the design sprint to 194 km/h, and a Guardian ECM suite in the right torso pairs with a C3i computer in the center torso. The enhanced communications gear and stable firing platform carry over from the HER-1S, and Irian BattleMechs Unlimited still builds it at Irian.
