Recognition Notes
The HER-1B is a 30-ton striker, a 2856 rework of the 2632 HER-1S scout that trades reconnaissance for close-in firepower. Where the HER-1S carried a Flamer in the left arm, the HER-1B mounts a Medium Laser there, joining the Medium Laser in the right arm and the Medium Laser in the center torso. Standard internal structure and standard armor replace the endo steel structure and ferro-fibrous plating of the original, though the 270 fusion engine and its 97 km/h cruising speed with a 151 km/h top speed carry over. The 'Mech retains its enhanced communications gear and stands as a stable firing platform, and it is built by Irian BattleMechs Unlimited at Irian.
