The Shadow Hawk C is a 55-ton skirmisher, a field-refit conversion of the 50-ton SHD-1R sniper dated to 2467, this rebuild entering service in 2826. A 275 Clan fusion engine replaces the SHD-1R's 240 fusion engine, lifting cruising speed from 43 to 54 km/h and top speed from 65 to 86 km/h, and the jump range stretches from 90 to 150 metres. Where the original carried a Medium Laser in the right arm and an AC/5 in the left torso, this variant fields an ER Medium Laser in the right arm and an LB 5-X AC in the left torso, with an LRM 5 in the right torso and a Streak SRM 2 in the head. Standard armor replaces the SHD-1R's primitive plating, and heat sink count rises from 10 single to 13 single. Both arms carry reinforced battle fists, and the frame is rugged and field-serviceable; the type is assembled piecemeal as a field refit rather than at a dedicated factory.
