Shadow Hawk SHD-5S

The SHD-5S rebuilds the Shadow Hawk as a 55-ton scout, heavier than the 50-ton SHD-1R sniper that introduced the chassis in 2467. A 330 XL fusion engine lifts the cruising speed from 43 to 65 km/h and the top speed from 65 to 97 km/h, and jump range extends from 90 to 150 metres. Where the SHD-1R carried a single Medium Laser in the right arm and an AC/5 in the left torso, this variant mounts a Large Laser in the right arm, a Medium Pulse Laser and TAG in the left arm, and two Medium Lasers in each torso. Endo steel structure and standard armor replace the SHD-1R's primitive plating, and heat sinks rise from 10 single to 13 double. A Guardian ECM suite sits in the left torso, a Beagle active probe in the right torso, and a cargo bay in the head, none of which the base model carries. The reinforced battle fists on both arms and the rugged, field-serviceable frame carry over from the SHD-1R. This configuration is a field refit rather than a factory-built machine, assembled at various sites.
