Mongoose MON-96

The MON-96 is a 25-ton scout, a 3129 rework of the 2660 MON-66 that keeps the same cruising and top speeds of 86 and 130 km/h but adds a supercharger in the center torso for a sprint speed of 173 km/h. Where the MON-66 carried standard Medium Lasers and a Small Laser, this configuration mounts an ER Medium Laser in each arm and the center torso, with an ER Small Laser in the head. The Beagle active probe in the left torso gives way to a Bloodhound active probe, and heavy ferro-fibrous armor replaces the base model's ferro-fibrous plating over a reinforced structure in place of the endo steel frame. Ten double heat sinks and a 200 XL fusion engine round out the changes. Diplan 'MechYards builds it at Aix-la-Chapelle.
