Recognition Notes
The AWS-8V is an 80-ton assault that fights at long range, a 2980 field refit of the 2665 AWS-8Q. Where the AWS-8Q mounts a PPC in the left torso and another in the right torso alongside the arm-mounted PPC, this refit keeps just the right arm PPC and replaces the left torso weapon with a Large Laser and the right torso weapon with an LRM 15. The Small Laser in the head and the reinforced battle fist on the left arm carry over from the AWS-8Q. Cruising and top speeds hold at 32 and 54 km/h, and the type is assembled piecemeal at various facilities rather than a single dedicated line.
