Recognition Notes
The AWS-8R is a 2683 field refit of the 2665 AWS-8Q, turning the assault chassis from a long-range sniper into an 80-ton missile boat. Where the AWS-8Q mounted three PPCs, this configuration carries a Large Laser in the right arm and a pair of LRM 15 racks in the left and right torsos, with the Small Laser in the head carried over unchanged. Cruising speed holds at 32 km/h with a top speed of 54, and the 240 fusion engine and standard armor plating are unaltered from the original. The reinforced battle fist on the left arm remains a recognition feature, and as a field refit the type is produced at various sites rather than through a fixed manufacturer.
