Zeus ZEU-9S2

The ZEU-9S2 is an 80-ton assault that fights at long range, cruising at 43 km/h and topping out near 65, the same as the 2787 original ZEU-5T. Where that model carried an ER PPC in the left arm, this version mounts a Gauss Rifle there, and the single LRM 15 in the right arm is replaced by a pair of LRM 15 launchers in that same limb. The ER Large Laser in the left torso carries over, but the medium lasers of the base model are absent, and CASE has been added in the right torso. A lighter XL fusion engine replaces the base's standard fusion powerplant, and the heat-sink count falls from 17 to 12 double sinks. Like the original, it is built as an easily-serviced design, and Defiance Industries produces it at Hesperus II.
