Spider SDR-8Xr

The Spider SDR-8Xr is a 30-ton scout that fights close in, a 3103 rebuild of the 2650 SDR-5V. Where the SDR-5V mounts twin medium lasers in the center torso, this variant carries five ER small lasers instead — one in the left torso, one in the right torso, two in the center torso, and one in the head. A sword rides in the right arm, and partial wings sit in the left torso and right torso, raising the jump range from 240 to 270 meters. Endo steel structure and a 240 XL fusion engine replace the SDR-5V's standard structure and standard fusion engine, and double heat sinks stand in for the original's single sinks. An easily-serviced design, it cruises at 86 km/h and tops out near 130 km/h, and Nimakachi Fusion Products Ltd. builds it at Lapida II, with field refits carried out elsewhere.
