Recognition notes
The SDR-8K is a 3084 rebuild of the 2650-era SDR-5V, a 30-ton scout still cruising at 86 km/h and topping out at 130, with a 240-metre jump. Where the SDR-5V mounted a pair of medium lasers in the center torso, this version carries a single Snub-Nose PPC in the same location, backed by a PPC capacitor also in the center torso. A lighter 240 XL fusion engine and endo steel internal structure free up mass, and ferro-fibrous armor replaces the standard plating of the original. Double heat sinks stand in for the SDR-5V's single-strength units, and the design remains an easily-serviced machine, built by Nimakachi Fusion Products Ltd. at Lapida II.
