Dervish DV-9D

The DV-9D is a 3068 rebuild of the 2520 primitive DV-1S, a 55-ton missile boat that fights at long range. Where the original carried a pair of SRM 2s and twin LRM 10 racks, this configuration replaces them with four ER medium lasers split between the arms and four MML 5 launchers split between the torsos, with a targeting computer in the head. An XL fusion engine of 275 rating replaces the 265 fusion plant, and endo steel structure with standard armor replaces the primitive standard armor of the DV-1S, lifting cruising speed from 43 to 54 km/h and top speed from 65 to 86 km/h while extending jump range from 90 to 150 metres. CASE lines both side torsos, and the type keeps its hyper-extending arm actuators and easily-serviced layout. Achernar BattleMechs builds it at New Avalon.
