Dervish DV-8D

The Dervish DV-8D is a 55-ton missile boat that fights at long range, a 3062 rebuild of the 2520 DV-1S original. Where the base model carried a pair of SRM 2s and LRM 10s, the DV-8D replaces the short-range mounts with four ER medium lasers, two in each arm, and enlarges the torso launchers to LRM 15s, each fed by an Artemis IV fire-control system and backed by CASE. An endo steel structure and a lighter 275 XL fusion engine lift cruising speed from 43 to 54 km/h and top speed from 65 to 86 km/h, with jump range extending from 90 to 150 metres, and standard armor replaces the primitive plating of the original. Ten double heat sinks manage the ER laser array, and the type retains its hyper-extending arm actuators and easily-serviced layout. Achernar BattleMechs builds it at New Avalon.
