The CGR-SB "Challenger" reworks the 80-ton Charger from the CGR-1A1's fast scout into a juggernaut that fights at medium to long range, trading speed for firepower. Where the CGR-1A1 ran on a 400 fusion engine to cruise at 54 km/h and top out near 86, the Challenger fits a lighter 240 fusion engine, dropping cruising speed to 32 km/h and top speed to 54. Each Small Laser is replaced by a Large Laser, one in each arm and one in each torso, while the Medium Laser in the head replaces the original's Small Laser there. The heat-sink count climbs from 10 to 28 single sinks to cope with the heavier battery. It remains an easily-serviced design, built by Luthien Armor Works and Wells Technologies at Luthien.
