The Rifleman IIC 8 is a 65-ton heavy that fights as a skirmisher, a 3078 rework of the 2845 sniper-role original. Where that machine ran a 195 fusion engine for a 32 km/h cruise, this variant carries a 325 XL fusion engine that raises cruising speed to 54 km/h and top speed to 86, and jump range grows from 90 to 150 metres. In place of the twin Large Pulse Lasers and the ER Small Laser in the head, it mounts an ER Large Laser and an AP Gauss Rifle in each arm, with a Streak SRM 6 in each torso. Heat sink count drops from 19 to 16 double sinks. It carries anti-aircraft fire control and enhanced communications gear, and Trellshire Heavy Industries builds it at Twycross.
