Whitworth WTH-5S

The WTH-5S rebuilds the Whitworth as a close-in brawler, where the WTH-1S fought as a skirmisher at range. In place of the twin Medium Lasers in the arms it carries a Medium X-Pulse Laser in each, and the Streak SRM 6 in each torso replaces the unguided SRM 6; the head-mounted Medium Laser is gone entirely. A lighter 160 XL fusion engine and composite internal structure free up tonnage for an actuator enhancement system in each arm, a Guardian ECM suite in the center torso, and CASE II alongside a supercharger in the right torso, the last letting it push to 86 km/h in short bursts. Ten double heat sinks replace the fourteen single sinks of the original. It keeps the rugged, field-serviceable frame of the earlier design, and the Spillman Provincial Refit Facility turns it out at Acrux.
