Recognition Notes
The WSP-5A is a 20-ton scout that fights close in, a 3114 rework of the 2464 original that trades the Wasp's old 120 fusion engine for a 160 XL fusion engine, lifting cruising speed from 54 to 86 km/h and top speed from 86 to 130 km/h while stretching its jump range from 150 to 240 metres. In place of the WSP-1's single Medium Laser in the right arm, the WSP-5A carries an ER Medium Laser in the same location and adds a Streak SRM 2 in the left leg. Endo-composite internal structure and ferro-fibrous armor replace the original's standard structure and primitive plating, and CASE II lines the left torso. The type is noted as an easily-serviced design, and it is built by Irian BattleMechs Unlimited, with production also at Shiro III.
