Salamander PPR-7S

The Salamander PPR-7S is an 80-ton missile boat that fights at long range, a 3064 rebuild of the 3055 PPR-5S. Where the original mounts an LRM 20 in each arm and torso, this version fields three LRM 15 racks, one each in the left arm, left torso, and right torso, all three fitted with Artemis IV fire-control systems for tighter volleys. The twin medium lasers in the center torso are replaced by a pair of ER medium lasers, and a lighter 320 light fusion engine stands in for the original's 320 XL fusion engine, with the same cruising speed of 43 km/h and top speed near 65. CASE still lines both the left torso and right torso, and the PPR-7S adds a jump capability of 120 meters absent from the earlier model. It remains a maintenance-intensive design, built by Defiance Industries at Hesperus II.
