The Osteon D is an 85-ton juggernaut that fights close in, cruising at 32 km/h and topping out at 54. Where the Osteon Prime mounts an Improved ATM 9 in each arm and torso, this configuration carries a Large Pulse Laser in the same four locations, and it does without the Prime's CASE II protection in those bays. The Nova combined electronic-warfare system stays in the head, and the D carries 21 double heat sinks against the Prime's 10. Both configurations share the 255 XL fusion engine, Inner Sphere reinforced structure, and ferro-lamellor armor, and Kerensky Memorial Manufacturing builds the type at Strana Mechty.
